Safety
Safety at BestSoft is not a review stage at the end of development. It is a research programme with its own questions, its own methods and its own authority to stop things.
What the safety organisation does
Our safety teams evaluate how systems behave under uncertainty, how reliably they follow human intent, and what happens at the edges of their training. They design the evaluations, set the thresholds, and hold the authority to withhold a deployment.
That authority is real. It has been used.
How we define terms
A great deal of public discussion about AI safety is conducted with words nobody has defined. We publish definitions before we publish findings, so that a claim about autonomy, alignment or oversight can be checked against what we actually meant.
Our current definitions are in the policy library, with version numbers, because a definition without a version number is an opinion.
Escalation and authority
Every deployment operates under a defined authorisation with explicit escalation conditions. When a condition is met, work stops and a human reviews it. When no condition is met, work continues.
We publish the conditions. We think a safety framework that cannot be inspected is not a safety framework.
